  • Special Education Teachers

    TAL Academy is seeking highly motivated special education teachers for the 2023-2024 school year to teach students in grades 2 - 4.  Applicants should have an approved degree in Special Education.  Although we will be providing intensive teacher training, experience with Orton-Gilliingham multisensory techniques is preferable.

    Responsibilities:

    • Small group instruction in addition to classroom teaching
    • Creativity in preparing and executing lessons
    • Assessing students' work and adapting lessons accordingly
    • Developing and adapting individualized teaching methods that are suitable for each of their students
    • Using special tools and equipment provided to create a stimulating and inviting learning environment
    • Provide meaningful feedback to parents regarding their child's progress
    • Participate weekly in team meetings to discuss student progress

    Skills and qualifications:

    • State approved Masters degree or higher
    • Ability to build good relationships with children, parents, teachers and social workers
    • Ability to work well with children from different backgrounds and varying abilities
    • Well-organized and self-driven to devise and adopt new techniques for teaching and keeping the class orderly
    • Strong classroom management skills

  • Rebbeim

    TAL Academy is seeking highly motivated Rebbeim for the 2023-2024 school year to teach students in grades 2-4.  Applicants should have a state-approved Bachelor’s degree or higher.  Although we will be providing intensive teacher training, individuals with experience in teaching kriah and/or a highly organized systematic approach to teaching Chumash and Mishnayos is preferable.

    Responsibilities:

    TAL Academy is seeking highly motivated Speech Language Pathologists for the 2023-2024 school year to work with students in grades 2 - 4.  Applicants should have a state-approved Master’s degree and licensing in their field.  Although we will be providing intensive training, experience with students diagnosed with language-based learning disabilities and multisensory techniques is preferable.

    Responsibilities:

    • Working with a small group of students with a wide range of abilities, inside and outside of the classroom
    • Participating in preparing and executing lessons
    • Working with classroom teachers and rebbeim on listening, speaking, reading, writing, and learning strategies that are suitable for each student based on their language needs
    • Provide meaningful feedback to parents regarding their child's progress
    • Participate weekly in team meetings to discuss student progress
    • Collaborate with and train other professionals and parents
    • Serve as consultants to other educators and related professionals

  • Mental Health Professional

    TAL Academy is seeking a highly motivated mental health professional for the 2023-2024 school year to work directly with students in grades 2 - 4 and to interface with teachers, parents and administration. Applicants should have a state-approved  degree and licensing in their field.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide counseling for students with language-based learning disabilities in grades 2-4 individually and in small groups
    • Provide teacher and classroom consultation
    • Assist teachers in developing and monitoring behavior plans for struggling students
    • Collaborate with teachers in implementing a strong SEL curriculum
    • Collaborate with the school’s leadership team, classroom teachers, and parents to support all students in achieving success
    • Participate in weekly team meetings to discuss student progress
    • Facilitate connections with outside professionals working with our students

    Skills and qualifications:

    • Ability to build good relationships with children, parents, teachers, and administrators
    • Ability to work well with children from different backgrounds and varying abilities
    • Strong work ethic and standards or professionalism
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills

    • Applicants should have a Master's degree or higher as well as certification in school psychology or social work
  • Occupational Therapist

    TAL Academy is seeking a highly motivated Occupational Therapist for the 2023-2024 school year to work directly with students in grades 2 - 4 and to interface with teachers, parents, and administration. Applicants should have a state-approved degree and licensing in their field. This is a part-time position with opportunities for growth as our school expands.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide evaluations, assessments and ongoing therapy for children in grades 2-4
    • Work as part of a comprehensive multidisciplinary core team
    • Attend weekly team meetings
    • Collaborate with and direct teachers in addressing their students’ occupational therapy needs within the classroom

    Skills and Qualifications:

    • Ability to build good relationships with children, parents, teachers, and administrators
    • Ability to work well with children from different backgrounds and varying abilities
    • Strong work ethic and standards of professionalism
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Knowledge of and comfort with the use of technology
    • Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy (OTR/L) required
    • Meet all prescribed professional requirements and rules of professional conduct as an Occupational Therapist including
      certifications and/or licensures
  • Art Teacher

    One - two days per week.

    Boost creative thinking, impart artistic skills to students.

    • plan, develop and implement an art curriculum
    • advise on the purchase of art materials and maintain the inventory of art materials
    • give demonstrations to students to teach them art techniques
    • assign art projects to students, grade the finished art projects, maintain records of the students' progress
    • organize art exhibitions to display the artworks of students
    • collaborate with teacher and school administration, attend faculty meetings and participate in parent-teacher discussions
  • Music Teacher

    One - two days per week

    Provide a music program for students

    • develop and maintain an effective music educational program for students
    • understand potentials and skills of each student and guide individual student according to their skills
    • maintain lesson plans and instructional materials for students
    • recommend maintenance and repairs for musical instruments when necessary
    • maintain student behavioral standards to ensure productive and disciplined environment during group rehearsals, practices, and performances
    • prepare and supervise students in performing plays, concerts and other events that include music
  • Gym Teacher

    One - two days per week.

    Organize games and challenges that promote physical activity among children and develop their motor skills. Must also adjust curricula to adapt to the needs of children with different abilities in order to create a positive experience for all students.

  • Assistant Teachers

    TAL Academy is seeking Assistant Teachers for the 2023-2024 school year to provide support and assistance to the lead classroom instructor and to  supervise students.

    Responsibilities:

    • Works directly with students under the supervision of a teacher or instructor
    • Supervises students
    • Gives students additional attention and instruction
    • Is present and engaged during class sessions
    • Enforces school and class rules to help teach students appropriate behavior
    • Helps teachers prepare for instruction by getting materials ready or setting up equipment
    • Collaborates with instructors to support student success and create an inviting learning environment


    Skills and qualifications:

    • At least 75 credits toward an accredited bachelor's degree
    • Solid communication skills and compassion for others
    • Comfortable interacting with children
    • Time management skills
    • Organizational skills
    • Knowledge of and comfort with the use of technology
